I had a fractional CO2 laser treatment with Dr. Steen a couple of weeks ago. I was nervous going in, but he made me feel safe and prepared every step of the way, right down to my pre-treatment medications. I arrived an hour early for numbing cream, followed by numbing injections. They pinched like Novocaine at the dentist, and by the time we started, my face was completely numb. His assistant, Esmeralda, was wonderful. She even let me hold her hand when I got nervous. The procedure itself was painless, with just a little stinging around my lips. Recovery went just as Dr. Steen described. The day after, my face was very red and inflamed, more uncomfortable than painful. By day three it was crusting over and felt tight and itchy, (the itching was probably the worst part! But tolerable) and on day four it started flaking. Then the healing happened fast, revealing incredibly soft, smooth skin! One tip for anyone considering this: have all your clothes, towels and bedding freshly washed before your treatment, and plan to change your pillowcase daily. By day seven I was back out running errands. (My day-8 photo shows me wearing only tinted mineral sunscreen and mascara!)I attached the before photos taken at the clinic. I'm so pleased with my results and excited to see even more improvement as my skin keeps renewing over the next few weeks. Thank you, Dr. Steen and Esmeralda!
