Treatment for Nevi and Birthmarks
Babies are born with all sorts of markings, in a range of shapes, sizes, and colors. One of the most common are nevi; dark moles that sometimes don’t appear until later in childhood. Most are less than three inches across and are usually harmless. Small nevi can rarely turn into cancerous melanomas, and larger ones have a much higher risk. Either way, it’s important to have your child’s moles regularly checked and measured for size and color changes.
