Onychomycosis also known as toenail and fingernail fungus
Onychomycosis is the medical term for nail fungus. Toenail and fingernail fungus are both prone to infection.
Signs of infection can include:
- Thicker than usual nails
- Spreading discoloration at the top of the nail
- Ragged nail edges
- Distorted nail shape
- Slight order from affected nails
There are different treatment options available to treat nail fungus. For this particular patient, Dr. Godwin prescribed a oral anti-fungal pill for x number of weeks. The treatment resulted in a complete recovery.
