June is National Acne Awareness Month

Acne is a very common complaint amongst men and women ages 11-60+ and can present in a variety of ways. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, it is the most common skin condition in the United States.  While there are many effective topical treatments available, as well as oral antibiotics, acne can be stubborn and persistent. Acne can appear in a variety of lesions including: blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, and painful cysts.

There are many topical treatments for acne. Some help to invisibly exfoliate dead skin cells that clog the pores. Other topical treatments may contain antibiotics to combat the acne causing p.acne bacteria. Regular acne facials that deep clean the skin and clear any acne plugs also prove beneficial. V-Beam laser treatment is especially helpful in treating red scars and reducing their appearance.
